There were things similar to traditional floating lanterns used to send off the spirits of the departed. But these lanterns are of another world with natural laws different from ours. What were these lanterns being used for? They had nothing to do with spiritual floating. Where do they like houses for beings or things? Was it used for another thing, an event that was of another world? Some beings were composed and lived as light; they floated everywhere. It was said that the dead transformed into these beings and resided in many forms and places. It was discovered that these beings of light were not dead but life forms in themselves. Imagine these beings that floated around lanterns and considered the lantern’s homes. These lanterns existed in ponds, rivers, and streams. None of them was created by humans; the beings of light built them as their homes. Deep in the mountains, these tiny beings hid the lanterns from humans who tried to steal them. Yet the lanterns navigated to the human-inhabited places. To the eyes of a human, the lanterns seemed apparitions. They appeared and faded. The lanterns changed shape; some transformed into aquatic forms to better navigate the waters, and they became animals with legs on land. When the lanterns had formed into these shapes, some eventually became colonies of lanterns residing on land for centuries.

The beings of light of the lanterns were more like fairies that glowed and flew around. They’ve been known to guide dead people to the next realm. They had human-like forms as if made of light or glass, yet mechanical-like. They could transform themselves into human form, tall, short, bald, mature, children, male or female, there were limitless possibilities. Their food was sunlight; they perhaps absorbed it through their bodies, and imagination and knowledge were other types of food.

Priests made prayers to send the dead souls to the lanterns, as society considered that the best place to go. There was no concept of heaven; the belief was that the deceased was reincarnated into rivers, lakes, streams, animals, the wind, unseen spirits, or other life forms. It was through the lanterns were beings of light were reincarnated into humans, and they were once beings of light. In a way, the lanterns were also homes for souls where the beings of light took care of them until the next reincarnation. They said that when lanterns burst with glowing things of many colors, that was when many souls were to be born again to live on earth.

Lately, the lanterns had become rare, the man-made ones typical, but the beings of light still resided and hovered around their lantern homes.
